Please provide a brief background about yourself
Born and raised in Scotland, I moved to London 7 years ago and have over 8 years of experience working in IT/Technical recruitment.
How would you describe your day-to-day role at Claremont?
I manage all contract & temporary recruitment as per our MSP agreements. I am responsible for the end-to-end management of the contingent workforce – from supplier management to strategic workforce planning.
Working as an extension to the Talent Acquisition Teams, I utilise my expertise to help hire the best temporary workers from consultants, freelancers, and contractors for the business. I am the day to day point of contact for any queries regarding recruitment needs or services from Claremont. Partnering with Hiring Managers, I understand pain points and essential hiring needs in order to find the most suitable candidates in the market.
What led you to choose a career in this field?
I completely stumbled into recruitment and quickly discovered how challenging but rewarding the industry is. The ability to determine your own income was very appealing, along with the work hard / play hard lifestyle!
What convinced you to apply to Claremont?
It was evident when I met with the team that they were the most down-to-earth, likeable people who genuinely cared about your success and progression throughout the company. My career path was laid out from day 1, and 7 years later I can safely say they have stuck to everything and more.
What’s the most exciting part of your role?
Getting candidates their ideal role and working with some great stakeholders within or MSP agreements.
What’s the most challenging part of your role?
The service delivery element of my role is challenging. Ensuring our delivery teams and external suppliers are all delivering as per agreed SLA’s, and being the representative for Claremont across our MSP function.
How is working at Claremont different from previous roles you’ve had?
Claremont is like one big family. There is no hierarchy, and everyone genuinely cares and wants to help.
What is your greatest accomplishment since joining Claremont?
Definitely starting off as a Delivery Consultant, moving my way up the company through various promotions to now heading up our MSP delivery function.
What hobbies do you have outside of work?
I love travelling and try to go on as many holidays as I can! I also love going to gigs, spending time with friends & family, and more often than not you can find me drinking a pint in the pub!
If you could describe your day in three words, what would they be?
A great laugh!
What’s the best piece of advice you would offer to candidates?
Be open and honest with where you’re at with other processes, keep your recruiter in the loop and expect them to do the same back. Chose what projects and companies are most of interest to you, rather than just chasing a pay packet down.
