Stacey Jacobs

Pay and Bill Manager

Please provide a brief background about yourself:

I started out in Accounts Assistant roles in various types of companies, and after having children started working in a recruitment company, processing payroll for the first time. I have now been doing that for almost 10 years!

How would you describe your day-to-day role at Claremont?

Dealing with any queries from clients, contractors and consultants. Ensuring everything is processed smoothly and accurately – mostly timesheets, invoicing, payments and all the admin that goes with it.

What led you to choose a career in this field?

I have always worked in Finance as my brain is very number orientated, but payroll specifically really suits me – it requires a lot of organisation which is my forte!

What convinced you to apply to Claremont?

I was asked to join Claremont by a colleague I had worked with previously – the role very much suited me, and on meeting some of the team I was really keen to join Claremont – I knew I would fit right in

What’s the most exciting part of your role?

When everything goes right, and there are no issues at the end of the month following payroll😊

What’s the most challenging part of your role?

Getting it right😊When you are dealing with people’s pay, it is so important for everything to be correct. I make every effort to ensure I deal with every detail and query as efficiently and accurately as possible.

How is working at Claremont different from previous roles you’ve had?

The job itself is similar wherever you are, but the team and culture at Claremont make all the difference. It is a pleasure to come to work each day - everyone has the same values here – work hard but have fun whilst doing it!

What is your greatest accomplishment since joining Claremont?

Streamlining the Pay & Bill process – our clients and contractors vary greatly and on joining Claremont I knew we had to try and make everything simpler and more organised.

What hobbies do you have outside of work?

With three young children I don’t have too much time for hobbies – I spend most of my free time on side of a football pitch or in the viewing gallery of a swimming pool! Aside from that I love to go on as many adventures with my family as possible – walks, camping, holidays in the sun are my favourite things to do

If you could describe your day in three words, what would they be?

Unpredictable, busy, Excel?!!

What’s the best piece of advice you would offer to candidates?

Find a job that you enjoy doing, but more importantly find a company that cares, and treats every employee with the same respect, support and recognition. Life is too short to hate going to work every day!
