APPLICATION ARCHITECT

Working for a leading digital insurance company.

As an Application Architect for multiple delivery teams you will assume a key position providing architectural expertise and guidance that enables the vision of the overall solution to be delivered.

Interacting with the Solution/Enterprise Architecture team, you will use your knowledge of the architectural configuration of your product area to influence decisions about what tools and technologies will enhance our service offering. This is a highly technical role and your enthusiasm for exploring new technology and tools will be valued in this team. Also, your ability to create architectural diagrams and technical designs that you can articulate to both developers and product owners, will allow you to have a significant impact on our business.

The environment is one that has 190+ technical people in a company that champions Pair Programming, innovation days and a challenge culture, as well as uses a plethora of tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, .NET Core, Node.js, MongoDB and more.

What will it take to be successful as an Application Architect?
As an experienced Tech Lead or Architect, you will be able to demonstrate involvement in the delivery of applications that underpin business or consumer facing products, and the part you played in improving their quality.

Also, you will be able to show:
*Experience of defining product architecture
*A background of mentoring and coaching technical colleagues
*Has strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills
*Experience working with multiple patterns, domains, languages and persistence mechanisms as well as distributed systems
*We have a containerised microservice and serverless architecture based on AWS. Experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect and similar protocols are a must as our identity provider services are a key enabler for both security and personalisation throughout the company. The team's tech stack includes Node.js, React, .Net Core, Mongo DB, Kafka, and serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
