Application Support Engineer - Cheshire My client is a highly dynamic and successful IT Services and Consultancy organisation with a strong presence across the UK. They currently have an opportunity for an Applications Support engineer to join their team in Cheshire.

The role: The Application Support Engineer will be part of the Professional Services team, providing a number of key roles to support the overall success of the software development and service function. Working with enterprise grade software systems on top of the Microsoft technology stack.

The Application Support Engineer will provide technical support of the application, and the underlying environments, with the ability to report to customers or other internal business functions. This role will provide full product lifecycle support.

This will include:
- Support the products at a technical level.
- Stakeholder within the software design and development process.
- Integration with Software Testing functional group.
- Software documentation including the preparation of design, technical and user-focused documentation. - Liaison with other business functions, and 3rd parties / key customers where required.
- Third line support.
- Reporting to the Global Head of Software Engineering, the duties and responsibilities of the

Application Support Engineer include:
- Support the product set and underlying environments to a competent and technical level.
- Assist with pre-sales and provide support and guidance where required.
- Carry out software deployment and implementation.
- Prepare technical and user documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
- Where appropriate, liaise with customers or other external parties to document feedback and user stories related to the overall system and process.
- Provide support to the service desk in any support escalations, either through directly resolving or triaging issues through to development.
- Help to adhere to and evolve the Software Release Process.
- Work with other parts of the business to perform Software Handover Process to ensure that all parts of the business understand key technical / user features.
- Represent the organisation by travelling to customer site where required to support any project work

Technologies: - Operating systems: Microsoft Windows / Windows Server - Databases: Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 onwards - Hardware: Up to date spec Laptop (eg. 8GB RAM plus Dual Core Processor)
Development Systems: Visual Studio 2013 / 2015, SharePoint, IIS, Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio Online.
