Job description

Data Engineer- Stockholm, Sweden
I am currently working with a global music streaming platform who are looking for a Data Engineer to join their Analytics Engineering team in Stockholm, Sweden on a permanent basis.

The Role:
Working together with their Analysts to define and meet the company's data needs, you will be critical to supporting and building up an insights-led culture throughout the organisation as well as a customised experience for their users. You'll be part of a small Analytics Engineering team whose mission is to collect raw data from backend systems and databases, user interaction events, and other sources, transform it into well-defined, high-quality, accessible datasets, and expose them via self-service dashboards, APIs for their product, and wherever else they can make useful use of it.

Because they are a small company, you will regularly collaborate with different development teams to manage how data is produced and translated, as well as with customers, across all departments, including Product Development, Marketing, Commercial, Finance, and Business & Legal Affairs.

Google Cloud Platform serves as the foundation for their technology stack. The team is currently using SQL, Big Query, Scala, Airflow, Google Dataflow, DBT, Tableau, and Terraform, as well as open-source and third-party services as needed, and you'll have a say in how they choose the right tool for the task in the future. They expect you to spend a significant amount of time describing, modelling, transforming, documenting, and exposing data in a dependable, reusable, and scalable manner.

They have full flexibility in working remotely or from their office in central Stockholm offering perks like breakfasts every day and free gym access.

Personality:
You're a pleasure to work with because you're friendly, professional, pragmatic, and exact. You're probably also comfortable defining yourself as:

*A person with an agile mindset who feels comfortable with quickly adapting to constant change and who focuses on what is most important here and now.
*Inquisitive and eager to learn new things
*Attention to detail, as well as a willingness to complete tasks!
*Someone who is humble and straightforward, who speaks what they mean and means what they say.

Technical Experience:
*At least 3 years development experience in either Scala, Python or Go.
*At least 2 years' in-depth experience with cloud technologies e.g., AWS, GCP or Azure.
*Good hands-on knowledge with SQL.
*Previous experience of building scalable, maintainable, and robust data management systems and processing pipelines.
*Strong background in software engineering, e.g., a CS degree or equivalent fundamentals.

*Professional experience of one or several relevant areas
oData modelling and processing tools like Big Query, DBT, Apache Beam or similar
oWorking with or close to quantitative analysis, KPIs or experimentation for product, financial or marketing performance
oWorkflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Luigi or similar
oDatabases like BigTable, PostgreSQL, Datastore or similar
