Data Engineer
I am currently working with a world leading music streaming platform who are on the lookout for a Data Engineer to join their team in London for an initial 3-month contract which could extend.

This is a remote working function which could be onsite once the office is open.

Description:
They are looking for someone to join their Content Knowledge Team. In Content Knowledge, they believe that by combining multiple sources of metadata, extracting information from the audio signal, and using their entire user community, they can be in a unique position to have the richest and most accurate catalog of audio in the world. By deriving reliable, rich knowledge from data, they can improve their economics, improve their UX, and build a foundation for their teams to build new products.

You will build the data pipelines that power their application, scale highly distributed systems, and continuously improve their engineering practices. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.

What you will do:
*Design, develop and deploy data pipelines in Scala with a focus on reliability and scalability
*Work in a high-performance, autonomous team of engineers and collaborate with researchers, designers, and product managers across the company
*Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team
*Work in an environment that supports your individual growth

Who you are:
*You are passionate about writing high-quality code
*You have experience writing Scala code
*You are familiar with distributed computing platforms, such as MapReduce or Spark
*You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*You have experience deploying and operating services in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS
*You are enthusiastic about what you do and have a high interest in keeping up with current methodologies in your areas of expertise
