Data Protection Officer

I am currently working with a global ecommerce organisation who are looking for a Data Protection Officer to lead on data protection and privacy across the company. This is a brand-new role where you can shape a lot of the key areas from scratch.

Responsibilities include (not limited to):
*Define the people and financial requirement for managing ongoing compliance
*Ensure the business is compliant with all applicable data protection legislation
*Identify, define and mitigate data privacy risks
*Build and manage relationships with data protection authorities
*Deal with requests for info & complaints professionally
*Lead on incident and breach procedures and response
*Ensure data subjects (customers & employees) are informed of their rights
*Establish and maintain data protection and privacy frameworks
*Undertake audits and checks to monitor overall compliance

Experience required:
*Expert knowledge in data protection and privacy including GDPR
*A legal or compliance background
*Practical application of relevant legislations including GDPR
*Any experience with the application of international data protection legislation is ideal
*Audit experience and/or an audit qualification is advantageous
