Data Protection Officer - Marketing/Online Media - Majorly Remote - Permanent

The Role:

One of the UK's leading Online Marketing & Media businesses are looking to appoint a Data Protection Officer to work effectively with stakeholders across the entire organisation in every department.

This business moves quickly to address a variety of legal issues that come with being disruptors in the market. The team you could be joining consists of a group of professionals who prolifically look to deliver results and solve these difficult problems.

The Company:

This leading Marketing business has grown exponentially over the past few years. Based upon a simplistic business plan of partnering top brands with a range of institutions, the company enables a range of organisations to receive more exposure and notoriety towards their target audiences.

Now with over 250 employees and a global footprint of offices in UK, US and Australia, the company is looking to grow even more rapidly so there could not be a more exciting time to be potentially joining!

What you will be doing:

Oversee the whole global compliance programme and privacy governance framework to manage data use.
Consistently update privacy policies, cookie policy and other data use policies when required.
Serve as the main POC with all relevant company parties such as the supervisory authorities, internal teams on data and privacy-related matters.
Provide in-depth training to employees, run privacy impact assessments around all the company's products and oversee the data supplier audit process.
Effectively elaborate global privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR to all relevant stakeholders working with them to implement such laws into the products and technology.
Collaborate with the Information Security team to maintain all relevant records of data assets and exports.

Who you need to be:

Minimum 4 years PQE and experience working with privacy compliance.
Qualified lawyer status in the UK.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of EU data privacy and data regulation protection in addition to solid knowledge of other major privacy frameworks.
Previous role as a leading DPO or experience guiding DPOs in a regulated organisation.
Data & Privacy certifications preferred such as CIPT, ISEB, CIPM.
Good understanding of IT, Data management systems and engineering.
Superb communication skills with a clear ability to prioritise, organise and manage time effectively.
Exceptional legal research skills.

This role can be majorly remote but the chosen applicant may need to frequent the office every now and then.
