Electrical and Instrumentation V&V Technician - Energy Sector - Gloucestershire - Permanent + Benefits

My Client a leading organisation within the energy sector is looking for an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation V&V Technician to join their growing team in the Gloucestershire.

Salary is dependent on experience.

Basic Purpose and Scope:

The role of the V&V Technician is to assist and support other V&V Technicians within the test facility.

Principal Responsibilities:

Learn the skills and knowledge that are required to competently perform V&V testing, assembly and disassembly, test equipment maintenance, calibration, environmental screening, modification, troubleshooting and repair. During this period, the V&V Technician will work under the mentorship of more senior V&V technicians within the facility.

Person Specification:

Education:

Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in electrical engineering.


Required Skills (and experience):

* Build, improve or set up equipment (data acquisition systems), conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate results.

* Ability to set-up, configure data acquisitions system software, example NI DAQ, NI LabVIEW, DASYLab.

* Setup and use of instrumentation including; pressure sensors, accelerometers, flow meters, loadcells and thermocouples.

* Experience of cable layout and installation and be able to construct and route cabling from verbal instructions, circuit diagram sketches or electrical schematics.

* Good soldering skills at connector and PCB level, (certification to IPC 610 highly desirable).

* Ability to use all functions on a digital multimeter (DMM) and oscilloscopes.

* Assist with the design and development of electrical test fixtures.

* Undertake timely diagnosis and fault finding.

* Ability to identify and report any tool and calibration requirements on EE equipment.
