Job description

What you will do
An opportunity has become available for a Software Delivery Lead in our Fire Detection R&D team. The role will be responsible for delivery of embedded software in the EMEA region. This is a senior role requiring a strong understanding of software development, ability to effectively elicit requirements and translate them for a technical team, and ability to influence and motivate distributed teams of developers and testers.
You will lead teams daily in the development of embedded applications, including reporting of progress metrics. You will maintain released products, liaise with other departments and work with global agile teams to implement software solutions that improve quality, and adhere to design procedures across the software development lifecycle.
You will deliver software for the heart of the fire detection system - the control panel - and other components installed around a building. EN regulatory standards determine the design of control panels in Europe and beyond. The position reports to the Panels Software Engineering Manager.

You will plan & manage software projects. You will understand the product and its application, business value and customer interaction. You will make decisions to prioritize effort and guide teams. You will judge the acceptability of implemented solutions. You will have familiarity with software development tools and test techniques including capturing quality metrics.

What we look for
Required
*Experience leading projects distributed across teams in different geographic locations
*Comfortable in a Scrum Master or Product Owner role
*Degree in a R&D subject like Electronics, Computer Science, or similar
Preferred
*Experience programming in a technology / industrial R&D environment
*Excellent judgement, ability to prioritize and balance customer and business needs
*Experience and/or qualification in project management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, CSM..)
