What you will do
The role of Key Account Manager will be instrumental in driving growth and profitability through the fire & security business by 1) improving win rates, 2) improving executed margin performance, and 3) increasing percentage of multi-solution sales. The Key Account Team Manager will be a key player in opportunity win teams and it is expected that the successful candidate will take great pride in their work and be a champion of quality at all times.

The role will be office based, and you will work with a diverse community of sales executives and teams - the successful candidate will bring a 'work winning' mind-set and focused commercial approach to driving profitable growth both within their dedicated proposals team, and more broadly across the commercial organisation

How you will do it
The Key Account Team Manager will provide first line leadership to a team of Design Engineers, and will have responsibility for meeting all defined KPI's along with development of competencies of the proposals team. Whilst the proposals manager will hold leadership for the defined team, it is expected the successful candidate will have the ability to work with peers to ensure we have the right resources focused on the most impactful opportunities.

Critically the Key Account Team Manager will be the lead contact to a defined field sales organisation, and therefore the relationship with the sales management is community is vital to success and achievement of objectives. The proposals and sales management team will work together, within a defined rhythm/process to drive incremental gains in performance and productivity as a collective.

Driving engagement with field sales is critical and quality of solutions, proposals documents and general interaction is a primary focus for the Key Account Team Manager. It is expected that much of the best practices developed within the sales management organisation will be leveraged by proposals managers for performance management, development and continuous improvement.

Awareness of Health & Safety regulations/requirements, construction industry processes and contract documentation
Bid management
CAD / 3-D modelling / design packages
Configure - price - quote tools and applications
Formal procurement and construction processes and systems
CRM management and use

Proven experience in designing solutions for fire detection, and/or security systems (or related electrical/building services solutions)
Electrical wiring standards/requirements
Specific training associated with technical standards, codes or industry related programmes
Fire and/or security technical standards (system design codes along with industry relevant standards)
