What you will do
As the Proposal Engineer in our Energy & Critical Environments Major Projects Group you will be working in support of our Sales Consultants and Account Managers, acting as a technical expert in taking a client's brief and turning it into a high end deliverable proposal project.

Our Energy & Critical Environments Major Projects Group is primarily focused on complex, highly engineered, fire suppression & detection solutions within the Energy (renewable & power generation), Petro-Chemical, Data Storage and Pharmaceutical markets/sectors.

How you will do it
From seller identification and qualification of an enquiry you will form a bid team with the seller to understand the scope, develop a design (if required), produce a specification, quotation and develop a proposal. The Proposals Engineer will engage with the customer, influencers, suppliers and internal members of the bid team through the process as required, creating a proposal that aligns with the bid strategy, is technically compliant, commercially competitive and has clear differentiation utilising the company's enterprise products and solutions.
Possessing solid product knowledge, design skills, an understanding of technical specifications and standards, the Proposals Engineer will assist sellers with technical queries, development of bid strategies, surveys sites and bid presentations as required.

*Good knowledge of the industry
*At least 10 year engineering or sales experience with BS5839 Part 1: 2002 Fire Detection Systems.
*Proven track record in building client relations
*Excellent fact finder
*Educated to GCSE level or above
*Preferable qualified to HNC level in electrical engineering.
*Full UK driver licence with the ability to travel.

Preferred
*Experience of the fire industry
*General experience in sales environment
*Commercial understanding of bids, contract terms & contractual details
*Engineering or sales experience with gaseous extinguishing systems ie, Inergen/FM200/CO2
*Basic understanding of contract terms & conditions
