Hardware Engineer - 6 month rolling contract - FULLY REMOTE (office based in Germany)

The Company:

My client is a globally leading Renewable Energy & Utilities organisation who are on a combined mission to deliver effective and sustainable energy solutions with exceptional customer experience. This particular division of the business is focusing on establishing themselves as the leading clean energy company that will serve millions of customers within Africa. Their employee base and expanding array of customers will need further support in many areas such as the Research & Development team where the Hardware Engineer will work.

The Role:

The Hardware Engineer will drive product development throughout all aspects of the whole product lifecycle. Whilst the successful applicant will work firmly within the R&D team, the opportunity still involves consistent tasks with the Product Management & Product Performance teams to maximise product success.

Main Responsibilities:

Drive the systems and hardware development for the next generation of renewable energy solutions in addition to supporting optimisation on the existing products.
Focusing on costs and environmental requirements, develop efficient hardware concepts on provided specifications.
Through simulations, prototyping and testing, consistently verify hardware functionality.
Analyse and address hardware problems where appropriate to then provide efficient solutions for new and existing products.
Drive innovation on electrical engineering by mentoring junior team members and communicate effectively across the business.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum 8-10 years experience as a Hardware Engineer, preferably within consumer electronics or similar project.
Embedded development experience e.g. microcontrollers, SPI, I2C.
Experience with automating hardware validation tests, design and validation of power electronics.
Evident ability to analyse problems, provide efficient solutions and identify root causes.
Strong communication skills on all levels.
Educational background within Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or similar topic.

This position can be performed on a fully from home basis in Europe, office based out of Germany.
