What you will do
The Buyer role incorporates activities for Indirect purchases and the local management of the category. The Buyer will be responsible for supplier management and negotiations following established tender standards, availability requirements, and price constraints.

This position reports directly to a Procurement Manager. The candidate may be geographically based within the UK and should be willing to travel as required to support the business.

How you will do it
The Indirects Buyer purchases Indirect materials and services from established tender standards, availability requirements, and price constraints. You will obtain quotations and negotiates with suppliers on price, service and assists to ensure any technical inclusion on purchased materials and services. You will also support and implement EMEA and local (UKI) agreements, align with EMEA category strategies (leading locally). As the Indirects Buyer you will develop / negotiate Procurement agreements and achieve cost savings in line with departmental targets. You will manage interpersonal relationships with supplier staff and contributes to the measurement and reporting of performance, advising the Procurement Manager of identified risks and situations with potential to impact business performance. A key part of this role will require you to develop key vendor and internal relationships, with focus on agreements, supplier consolidation, along with setting up contracts that include pricing, rebates and terms agreements with suppliers.

The Indirect buyer manages and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure engagement. And also collects, analyses and recommends solutions to inefficiencies in the supply chain, processes and practices. Planning and prioritising activities, suggests and implements process improvements aimed at improving customer service levels is essential in this role.
You will advise management of improvements on materials and equipment, price changes, marketing changes and source changes. Reviews and approve all orders within scope, setting suitable thresholds to enable the meeting of targets and to ensure compliance.

*Three to five years of active experience in an equivalent Indirect purchasing position
