IT Desktop Support Engineer- Initial 6-month contract- Aberdeen, Scotland
I am currently collaborating with a global leader within the Oil and Gas industry who are looking for an IT Desktop Support Engineer to work onsite in their Aberdeen office for an initial 6-month contract period.

Role/Responsibilities:
*Troubleshoot and resolve PC incidents.
*Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, and Change).
*Staging of PCs.
*Hardware & software maintenance and support.
*Asset management.
*Coordinate with Break/Fix vendor for hardware repair.
*Do the bronze site visits as according to the scheduled calendar. (May not apply to all Desktop Support personnel)
*Assist and work closely with SSO on IT security issue and virus eradication effort.
*Have a good understanding on the IT pricing.
*Have a good understanding of the IT Processes and Procedures
*Comply with IT standard processes and procedures.
*Active participation in regular staff meetings as coordinated by Service Delivery manager
*Maintain working area to professional standards.
*Comply with Schlumberger QHSE and IT security policies

Experience required:
*Minimum 2 years on-site support experience supporting multiple operating systems.
*Experience working within an IT customer service focused environment.

Technical skills required:
*In depth knowledge of Microsoft PC applications.
*In-depth knowledge of PC hardware and software support.
*Ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware and software incidents.

Additional experience required:
*Experience on an IT Service Desk a plus
*Knowledge and experience in the use of Ticketing systems preferred
*Ability to write technical support documentation a plus
*Excellent customer service skills
*Good interpersonal and presentation skills
*Fluency in English
*Willing to work flexible hours when appropriate
*Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
*Ability to work under pressure
*Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.

Education/Certifications:
*MCP on Windows certification preferred
*Dell certification preferred
*BSc and 1-2 years' experience or 5+ years IT support experience (when degree is not held, prior formal technical training in relevant technical area and in people and business management skills can compensate.
