What you will do
We are looking to recruit a dedicated Electrical Design / Project Engineer for the Power & Export business in our Manchester office as part of the overall business objective to deliver professional project execution for re-occurring works from our existing accounts within the Power Generation industry. Our Markets include substations, Power Stations, Nuclear Stations and export projects around the world for large multinational key clients.

How you will do it
You will be reporting directly to the Project Execution Manager in the Manchester office the role will be responsible for: You will design of fire detection and alarm systems (AutoCAD is preferred however not essential). You will be required to manage Electrical CAD resource within the department. As part of your role you will be required to do the writing of technical documentation such as System Philosophy Documents, O+M Manuals and Commissioning procedures. Another part of your role will be to produce tender packages for subcontractors to price works. You will be responsible for understanding scope of works and highlighting changes to Project Managers for claiming variations through to course of the contract. As the electrical design/project engineer you will be fully conversant with British Standards, Factory Mutual, NFPA, relating to design and installation works. And will also have the ability to demonstrate resource planning such as labour, contractors and design requirements. You will carry out risk assessments and produce method statements for all works incompliance with H&S standards and legislation. Commissioning of Systems and other site works may be required.

What we look for
Required
You will need to provide a good employment record with good technical knowledge of Fire / Power Generation industry knowledge, Exports experience desirable however not essential. A full understanding of the latest fire detection rules and regulations, and also prove they have the aptitude for working on numerous projects. Compliance with quality and Health and Safety standards is an essential part of this key role.

Preferred
Good level of IT skills, Word, Excel, web access, working in a team and working alone, understand our own product line.
Auto CAD trained is preferred but not essential.
Experience in Power Generation / Export Markets is desirable
