What you will do
The Sprinkler Design Engineer for Johnson Controls will be working as part of the Mechanical Sprinkler System Contract Engineering team on technical design aspects of projects. Also providing support to the South West install/ sales teams.

As Sprinkler System Design Engineer you will report to the Operations Manager and the role includes the specific focus on cost saving design optimisation to improve profit margins and the customer experience. The role will include responsibility for driving productivity and meeting contractual programme dates.

How you will do it
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer you will be liaising with multiple departments from internal/ external to prepare design solutions from client job specifications to meet project deadlines and costs. Each project will have its own challenges for you to navigate through and you will need to utilize your technical expertise and networking skills to gather and use data.

What we look for
Fully conversant with LPC Rules BS EN 12845, BS 9251, NFPA and FM Global rules for all hazard classifications from conceptual design to completion.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and if you also have 3D capabilities it would be a distinct advantage.
Capable of producing computerised hydraulic calculations and associated drawings.
A full UK driving licence.
On occasions, you may be required to work on site with our client's design team

At least 5 years sprinkler design experience or equivalent.
It would be preferable, if you have passed some/all of the LPCB's Design Competency Examinations (Basic, Intermediate & FHC).
Experience in the use of Microsoft office & Word will be advantageous.
Design experience and knowledge of other types of fire suppression systems will be of real benefit.
