Job description

What you will do
As Proposals Engineer you will be responsible for the design and proposal of hydraulic control equipment projects for the oil and gas market. This will involve the preparation of tender documents ensuring that enquiries meet the agreed criteria for content, delivery time, potential margins and that client agreed return dates are met. You will maintain a consistent order input level in accordance with agreed sales budget and ensure that final tender preparation is of a high quality and the engineered solution offered meets with company, national, international and statutory standards.

How you will do it
As Proposals Engineer you will be given specifications for hydraulic control equipment from the sales team from this you will design the system, guide the client in deviations against specification and create a winning proposal that is functional and cost effective. You will liaise with vendors and sub-suppliers to prepare design and costings sheets as well as internal teams for any legal, technical and financial approval aspects. You will be focused on client deadlines and be confident making and documenting necessary assumptions.

What we look for
*Experience in a proposals engineer or similar role
*Educated HNC or equivalent, in Control or Mechanical Engineering
*Ability to design hydraulics and control instrumentation hydraulics projects
*Strong MS Word and Excel skills & proficient in MS Office
*Confidence in making and defining assumptions
*Proven track record of developing successful proposals
*Strong time management/ prioritization skills
this role can be home based, requiring the occasional travel the Norwich office

*Educated to BSc/BEng standard in Control or Mechanical Engineering
*Knowledge and understanding of Oil, Gas and Renewables sector
*Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic Control Systems.
*CAD knowledge
*Ability to manage stakeholders
