Resident Engineer

What you will do

Your role as the Resident Engineer will be to provide on-site support located at the OEM customer's (Ford) engineering office and acting as a representative of Power Solutions with the OEM group.
Reporting into the Senior Key Account Manager/ Customer Director you will act as the connecting link between Power Solutions and the OEM customer group supporting the business when required.

How you will do it

As the Resident engineer your role will have two elements, the external OEM customer and internal Power Solutions side with the communication between both parties being key. Regarding the external customer you will support product and program launches within the Ford Engineering department. You will use Ford Engineering, program management and warranty systems (APQP, WERS, GPDS, AWS) and provide OEM technical know-how as well as supporting with release documentation.

From the internal side of things you will support Power Solutions sales, engineering, and quality departments for the Ford account and other customers on a global scale. You will manage the relationship with key Ford members, keeping track of any changes and identifying any business opportunities acting as the voice to the customer. Promoting Power Solution products you will be a part of new product launches providing assistance to Power Solutions teams, support with market intelligence, and support bi-annual account reviews.

*Degree in physics / chemistry / electronics / mechanical or comparable engineering qualification
*5 years of OEM automotive work experience.
*Great communication and networking skills.
*Flexible, willing to travel within EMEA and overseas.

[Preferred Qualifications - Education, Skills & Experience]
*Battery product and/or electrical power supply knowledge preferred
*Knowledge of the Ford GPDS Supplier Engagement Process preferred
*Assertiveness in interdisciplinary teams
*Native English speaker, German as a 2nd language preferable
*Knowledge in PC software applications (Microsoft Office)
*Experience OE customer portals preferred but not mandatory
