Job description

Want to work for a company whose application has over 200m daily users? There is a position open for a Lead Scala Engineer to come on board and lead a multi-national team of expert engineers in designing and developing scalable backend components and helping to define new microservice architecture.

Ideally, you will experience complex technical environments and high-traffic low latency systems as one of your main tasks will be to ensure the services built remain reliable whilst facing traffic of up 315k Requests per second. The tech stack includes: Scala, Java, GCP, Akka, non-relational databases


Take part in evolving the platform and infrastructure including defining the backend architecture.
Lead team on this journey and effectively organise the scope of that work into pieces for the other developers.
Take a "hands-on" approach to personal management and enhance team cohesion.
Help out the other developers where needed and conduct design and code reviews.
Take responsibility for analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems

At least 2 years of professional Scala experience with a background in Java.
Prior experience of leading teams.
In-depth Microservices experience including architecture and patterns.
Experience in complex technical environments with lots of moving parts.
Experience with NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
Working experience of AKKA in production
Experience and knowledge of High Traffic/Low Latency systems and working in distributed systems.
