I am currently working with a world leading media monitoring and insight platform who are looking to grow their team in Gothenburg with a Senior Platform Engineer on a permanent basis.
In this position, you will be part of an experienced global team developing a platform for their engineers to make the code-to-production path easier. You can help create the future of the developer experience at your company by delivering the greatest tools, services, and solutions.
They run on AWS and provide a deployment platform running on hundreds of Kubernetes nodes, hosting thousands of containerized applications. Hundreds of thousands of events per second and gigabytes of data per day are collected and index in Elasticsearch by their telemetry platform.
Python, Go, Shell, and Typescript are the most used programming languages on the software side.
You'll join them in keeping their services reliable, available, and efficient, as well as scaling them to meet the needs of their developer.
This role would be a good fit for someone who:
*Has an appetite for learning and trying new things- they encourage research, experimentation and they value learning from failure as much as success. If you do as well, then you'll have a lot of opportunities here.
*Loves creating a good developer experience- you'll be working with some of the most important tools their developers use every day, so you'll do well if you can approach problems from the users' perspective.
*Enjoys collaboration- they build their solutions in tight collaboration with other engineering teams as customers, so if you enjoy sitting together to understand the problem and brainstorm a solution, you will thrive in this position.
*Values clear, open communication- they see clear and thoughtful communication (including a willingness to give & receive feedback) as a fundamental engineering skill.
*Can carry a conversation in English- given the distributed nature of the team and the company, English is their primary language.
*Likes being a generalist- they are a small team, so there will be plenty of opportunities to touch all levels of the stack - the ideal candidate would enjoy a bit of variety in their work.
*You have a minimum of four years of programming experience, preferably in Python or Go.
*You've used distributed compute/storage tools like Kubernetes, Kafka, and Elasticsearch in production.
*You've worked with automation and CI/CD before.
*You pay close attention to details and are thorough while troubleshooting problems.
*You have experience with configuration management tools like Terraform and manage infrastructure with code.
*You're familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-native technologies.
