Senior Risk Manager - 2LOD

Consultant needed on a 1 month rolling contract working for a leading insurance company. Can be remote based anywhere in the UK.

You will be required to lead the Risk Team to ensure the organisation has a well embedded risk and control framework in place to support the delivery of our plan aligned to the Risk Management Framework.

You will support the Associate Director Risk in the development and delivery of activities that contribute to the wider risk and compliance agenda.
Provide clear direction and technical oversight to the Risk Team, and insight and challenge to the leadership team.

*Lead the team in providing expert risk advice that is tailored to the business
*Development and implementation of methods, techniques, processes and reporting to ensure that the company has a well embedded risk and control framework in place
*Constructive challenge to risk management considerations in the direction, decision making and execution of the business plan and strategy
*Act as a highly effective business partner, providing Senior Management level challenge and support - cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation
*Promote a strong Risk & Compliance culture
*Deputise for the AD Risk at meetings and Committee
*Early notification of risk issues discovered and requiring urgent escalation via the AD Risk and Chief Risk and Compliance officer
*Ensures the Risk Team is considered as trusted advisor of the business who add value to key business decisions.
*Maintaining employee engagement through coaching and support

Experience required:
*Expertise in Risk Management Framework design and execution proportionate to the size and complexity of the business
*Strong leadership and people management skills in financial services
*Understanding of complex business models/operation
*Logical, evidence based approach to problem solving
*Strong communication styles and adaptability
*High intellectual curiosity
*Strong negotiation and influencing skills
*Good organisational and time management skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*FCA knowledge is advantageous
