My client is looking for a Systems Administrator

The successful applicant will be involved in the management, maintenance, security, and operational availability of the 1,000 plus servers in the Unix server estate, focusing on (but not limited to) those which form part of the client's ISP platform.

The ability to work as part of a larger team with good communication skills is essential to the role.

Key Responsibilities

*Linux administration of Debian 7/8/9 and/or Ubuntu, and Red Hat EL 6/7 based systems.

*Day to day processing of request, change, and incident work tickets.

*Routine internal and external DNS changes.

*Account administration of the central authentication system to SNS based services.

*Engagement with 3rd party vendors, raising support tickets and assisting engineers.

*Shell scripting and other automation process work.

*Contribute to improvements to existing systems through automation or other means.

To be considered for this role you need to have

Expert knowledge of Debian 7/8/9 and/or Ubuntu, and Red Hat 6/7 Linux operating systems.

Practical experience of DNS, NTP, LDAP, IP Networking, and Shell / Other Scripting.

Building and maintaining UNIX systems

Perform maintenance and updates of existing systems to mitigate failures and increase security.

Work as a member of the team to facilitate improvements and increase the efficiency of the department as a whole,
