Job Title: Technical Author
Location: Manchester (3 days onsite per week)

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Technical Author to join our client on a 6-month contract in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of technical publications in line with industry standards, with a focus on S1000D and 2000M compliance. This role will involve working closely with engineering, logistics, and support teams to produce accurate and high-quality documentation that supports both operational and maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical publications in accordance with S1000D specifications, including authoring and managing Data Modules (DMs).

• Manage and update content within a Common Source Database (CSDB) to ensure accuracy and consistency across documentation.

• Produce Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) to support end users.

• Create and maintain 2000M compliant provisioning data, including spares lists, codification, and supply support documentation.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and product teams to capture, validate, and structure technical data.

• Ensure documentation meets required quality, regulatory, and customer standards.

• Support the integration of technical publications into product support and lifecycle management systems.
