My client is looking to recruit SQL DBAs to join their rapidly expanding IT department
Successful applicants will support, develop and release solutions to ensure they meet all data classification, data masking and data retention requirements.
Joining at a vital time in the building and development of the team you will be involved in migrations, integration and transformation of both on premise and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities will include
Managing the SQL database and applications teams and implement SaaS based technology where appropriate.
implementing and supporting SQL solutions including writing SQL queries, with scripting language such as PowerShell to automate deployments
responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the database estate.
planning and development of the database layer
troubleshooting issues on behalf of users.
escalation point for operational support issues and remediation
technical implementation using technologies such as SQL queries and PowerShell scripting.
Providing technical and business consulting
Producing technical proposals and managing risks and bottlenecks
Act as escalation point within Infrastructure for Data Classification and Data Masking.
Working closely with Data Governance and Data Protection to ensure data is protected at all time.
Lead in the implementation and development of a data warehouse and new associated reporting technologies with support from the technology services team and external specialist consultants.
Development and delivery of new reporting with MS Power BI and migration of existing reporting.
Oversee the development of processes to improve data quality and validation to ensure data accuracy across all systems and associated reports.
Build strong relationships through business partnering with key stakeholders to identify, evaluate and deliver MI and reporting needs
Develop and manage performance frameworks, reports and dashboards to provide proactive tuning and colleagues with effective reporting and insight into their operational delivery
Work with the business to ensure bench-marking supports future capacity growth and performance targets
Ensure regulatory and best practice requirements are met in relevant reporting
Own the design of the Data Library architecture options presenting pros and cons
Lead, motivate and develop individuals and teams in a way that supports an inclusive culture and the values, behaviours and expectations of the organisation
Ensure performance measures are in place that set high standards that support improvement and innovation
Assess and manage resources appropriately including the planning, recruitment, induction and development of colleagues
To be considered for these excellent roles you will need to show experience in the following areas
experience of database development either for ETL / Data Warehousing /MI and/or application development projects
Microsoft SQL Server; including 2016 and above
experience of read and/or write stored procedures to understand system behaviour
enterprise SQL/DB Management in a complex medium to large organisation operating in a regulated sector
experience of Managing a SaaS estate with SQL Availability groups, SQL Clustering, HA
developing integrations of Azure or AWS data platforms to various type of external systems with the ability to recommend approach and technology covering Data Warehousing.
Strong technical skills in SQL Server and development technologies
Strong technical skills with scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, etc)
Strong analytical skills, able to interpret large data sets and identify trends
Excellent interpersonal, conceptual and analytical skills and be able to develop and implement pragmatic solutions to complex problems
Excellent communication - can translate between technical and business requirements
Experience in assimilating and translating complex data into effective management reports and business intelligence
Successful track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships
Excellent experience of managing, motivating and developing people and setting high standards
